Taizz – December 2024:
Al-Hdaya Charity Developmental Foundation, with generous support from the State of Kuwait through Tarahom Charity and Humanitarian Society, launched an emergency malnutrition support project in Taizz Governorate, addressing urgent needs in the Therapeutic Feeding Center (TFC) and inpatient departments at the Yemeni-Swedish Hospital for Maternity and Childhood, alongside providing direct cash and nutritional assistance to severely malnourished children and their vulnerable families.
The project intervention supplied a comprehensive package of specialized medical equipment and furnishings, including oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters, syringe pumps, emergency crash carts, nebulizers, suction machines, blood pressure monitors, and medical hospital beds to enhance clinical capacity. It also provided direct cash assistance and food packages to 40 children from underprivileged households to cover medical costs and relieve financial pressures, thereby improving diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities, raising recovery rates, and mitigating child mortality risks.
Conducted in December 2024, this healthcare initiative is part of the foundation’s vital Health and Nutrition programs under its humanitarian response, reaching a total of 794 severely malnourished children throughout the year.
